PARAGUAY OVERVIEW

Although often overshadowed by neighbouring Brazil, Paraguay has become an ultra-desirable destination for global citizens and international investors alike. Paraguay has emerged as a top Plan-B destination as it boasts:

  • Financial and economic stability - With a robust banking system and a government that supports the free market, Paraguay is open for business and investment.
  • Paraguay has demonstrated to its citizens and foreigners that medical choice is personal and not to be decided by governing bodies.
  • Paraguay is a low-tax jurisdiction with favourable operating incentives for businesses and foreign investors. All income generated abroad is tax-free (territorial tax system).
  • Paraguay is self-sufficient in terms of food production. It produces enough food domestically to feed a population 4x larger than its current population of roughly 7 million inhabitants.
  • Agriculture and energy production are the two largest economic growth drivers, with Paraguay boasting the third-largest hydroelectric plant in the world.
  • The population is diverse, with many citizens having mixed European and Guarani heritage.
  • Spanish is widely spoken in Paraguay however, English is becoming increasingly more prevalent in school and business settings.
