South of the Canadian border, the U.S. administration entered office on a wave of building the country's manufacturing and production base, which, although well-intentioned, has certainly ignited tariff wars that jolted supply chains, sent import costs soaring, and pushed the cost of living upward for families that were already stretched thin.

I mean, the simple reality is that when any one country boasts a debt load to the tune of 38 trillion, and no one is doing anything to address it, that “chicken is going to come home to roost” someday soon, so to speak.

..the ‘08 crash will feel like a pin prick relative to the pain that is surely going to find those of us who willingly choose to remain financially exposed to these risks…

Beyond “our borders”, global tensions are reshaping alliances.

Trade deals that defined North America since the 90s (NAFTA) are being challenged.

…and for the first time in decades, Canadians and Americans are feeling the tremors of global realignment right at home.

From food and fuel prices to interest rates and investment returns, the world’s shifting balance of power is affecting everyone and everything, regardless of one’s economic status.

The less fortunate are skipping meals, relying on food banks, and routinely can barely make ends meet.
