Attention local artists, designers and craftspeople! Dubai Holding and Dubai Creative Clusters Authority have joined forces, and officially launched Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI). The institute is being developed in collaborated with renowned design moguls – MIT and Parsons School of Design. DIDI will offer unique courses in an array of subjects like product design, strategic design management, media, visual art and fashion design.
“The establishment of DIDI is a natural next step following the launch of d3, which is now a regional hub for innovation and a preferred destination for the world’s leading fashion designers and artists. Students will be able to benefit from this unique location at the heart of the Creative Community at d3, which will provide them with the inspiration they need to innovate and create,” said Fadel Al Ali, chairman of the board, DIDI and CEO of Dubai Holding, to Gulf Business.
The DIDI campus will feature a mega studio setting, so students from the diverse courses can swap ideas and potentially collaborate on interesting projects. The mission is to create an environment throbbing with inspiration. The institute is expected to open its doors and welcome its first batch of students in Autumn 2018.
