Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority has decided to collaborate with, the automobile hailing company, Careem. This has been done to promote happiness in residents, make touring the city convenient for tourists and generally make Dubai a smarter city.

Mattar Al Tayer, director-general and chairman of the RTA, shared with Arabian Business, “Undertaking this initiative stems from RTA’s keenness to implement the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President & Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, to transform Dubai into the world’s smartest city, bring happiness to people, deliver excellent services to tourists and enhance customers experience.”

The services will be available both online and through a phone app. The service will run using about 9,841 taxicabs and 4,700 limousines, according to the RTA.
